Yesterday my grandparents and I went to some park in Newark where there were a group of Hopewell Indian burial mounds. It was quite interesting. I took a few photos of this statue while we were there.
Today, I ran around like a madwoman both during class and outside of it. It got to 100 degrees today, so needless to say I am ready to pass out. My photo for the day is simply a shot of an interesting flower growing on a tree in our yard. Obviously I am favoring the right side this week. lol
Now I shall go attempt to sleep. Tomorrow will be another busy-- if not busier-- day.

It IS Alive!
Hey guys... I promise I'm still alive. It's been a strange week. I haven't been able to stay awake! Every time I wasn't in class, I was passed out on my couch. Heck, I even went to bed before 9 o'clock last night. Crazy for this night owl, I know!
Anyhow, I have been taking my photos of course. Tuesday's is of some new additions to our kitchen.
Wednesday's accidentally got deleted. :'( I had taken a photo of my very first chalk drawing for my Drawing class, but when I went to open it, my sleepy self deleted it permanently. I'll retake the photo once I get to school on Tuesday since I left it in the cabinets there (so it won't get ruined. I'm good at ruining things if you can't tell.) In place of it for now, I'll show you some more photos from the Senior shoot. :)
Yesterday's photo is SOOC, lens vignette and all. I don't feel like editing more than I already have to.
And finally, we reach today's photo: a fly on a... something. Can you find the fly? I didn't until I opened this in Photoshop. LOL
Also, I wanted to give you a sneak peek at the template I'll be making a tutorial on. The tut is already most of the way finished, but I was half asleep writing it, so I want to make sure I didn't skip a bunch of stuff.
Again, I apologize for disappearing all week. I also apologize for taking so long on posting this tutorial. I hope it'll be worth the wait once it finally IS posted! If not, well, Sandra can just ask me for clarification since she's the one who suggested this tut anyway! lol :)

Splish Splash
Today was a photographic failure. I had to cheat so badly to get this photo. My white background had distracting silver brads on it, so blanked it out except for the shadows because this photo is extremely boring otherwise. I don't know. Hope you like it more than I liked editing it. lol
I thought I'd try this out thanks to Shayne Gray's inspiring post, but I couldn't get enough light no matter what I did, and then when I finally got my flash working how I wanted it, I couldn't find an object that would create a good splash. This tiny one was created by a heavy Mexican coin. You might be wondering "Why Mexican?" Well, the answer is that it's magnetic and I could use my nifty magnet pen to get it out of the water from behind my tripod. Laziness for the win!
Other objects I tried include a 50 cent piece, a gold dollar, a golf ball, and three different sizes of rocks since I had no fruit to use. Nothing created a splash. I'm starting to think that glass was cursed (or, uh, specially made not to splash?). Any pointers on what I should have done?

Lomo Droplets
Today, I felt like experimenting, so for the first time, I tried droplet photography. I'm pretty happy with it. Definitely something I'd like to try again. These were processed with my Lomo filter again (if you like the look, check out this tutorial).
This is what happens when you use Lomo processing on black and white photos.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I did!
In case you're curious, here's my setup:
A water-filled cup with a tiny hole in it inside a bandanna hung from my tripod over a pan half full of water with a mirror in the bottom. The pink came from a metal tin lid with checkers on it, but you can use anything you want for the reflections. I used my reflector because the room is so poorly lit.
It would be much easier to put the pan in a sink and turn the faucet on to a very slow drip, but my sinks were in use so I had to improvise.

Mundane? Nah.
Okay, so yesterday Blogger hated me. No matter what I did, it would NOT let me even attempt to make a new post. I posted the photo on my Facebook, but now I'm posting it here. Today's photo will have its own post later. :)
The challenge was to make an interesting photo of something mundane and ordinary. Well, I was in school. Nothing's more mundane than that! However, there was a gorgeous piece of wall art that reminded me of a dinosaur, so I decided to take a few photos of that on my way out the door. Here's my shot.
I cooled the tones because... that was just the mood I was in last night, I guess. The piece itself actually looks like rusted metal. Perhaps I'll be able to provide a better photo next week.

Diagonalomo
Today was my first class in Athens, OH. It was a long drive there and back (over 3 hours altogether), but the city was AMAZING and my B/W Photography class was great. I'm very excited about this particular class. As of tomorrow, I will (hopefully-- VERY hopefully since I'll need it the next day) own a Nikon 35 mm film camera. EEEE!
Okay, enough with the fangirl squealing. On to the photos!
The daily challenge was to make a photograph today with a diagonal line leading the viewer's eye through the composition. Since I was in such a beautiful city, I took photos there. And, being in a strange mood, I decided to try out a sort of vintage lomo look. This is what I got.
I rather like the lomo look, but it's definitely not for everything. What do you think?
