What a Day

Today was definitely one to remember. We let our dog out to play in the snow and what did she find? Well, first the neighbor's dog. Then the neighbor's twin toddlers. Thanks to her, I had the good fortune of photographing their very first time playing in the snow.

As if that wasn't great enough, I also had a photoshoot with my grandpa's friend's toddlers today at a McDonald's playplace. There were a ton of adorable children there just begging (literally) to have their picture taken as I waited for the "clients".

This one actually directed me in taking this photo. Model in the making?

When at last the clients arrived, I got to photograph their GORGEOUS little boys (who, funnily enough, were black and white, much like my color choice today). They were a blast to work with. I definitely needed a nap once I got home! LOL

I couldn't have asked for a better day. Now to go get some sleep!

Generic

That's right. The generic laptop photo.

Today's challenge was high contrast. I apparently couldn't decide whether I wanted to stick with that or do the exact opposite, so my camera decided to give me both. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go pass out on my couch.

Mundane? Nah.

Okay, so yesterday Blogger hated me. No matter what I did, it would NOT let me even attempt to make a new post. I posted the photo on my Facebook, but now I'm posting it here. Today's photo will have its own post later. :)

The challenge was to make an interesting photo of something mundane and ordinary. Well, I was in school. Nothing's more mundane than that! However, there was a gorgeous piece of wall art that reminded me of a dinosaur, so I decided to take a few photos of that on my way out the door. Here's my shot.

I cooled the tones because... that was just the mood I was in last night, I guess. The piece itself actually looks like rusted metal. Perhaps I'll be able to provide a better photo next week.

Diagonalomo

Today was my first class in Athens, OH. It was a long drive there and back (over 3 hours altogether), but the city was AMAZING and my B/W Photography class was great. I'm very excited about this particular class. As of tomorrow, I will (hopefully-- VERY hopefully since I'll need it the next day) own a Nikon 35 mm film camera. EEEE!

Okay, enough with the fangirl squealing. On to the photos!

The daily challenge was to make a photograph today with a diagonal line leading the viewer's eye through the composition. Since I was in such a beautiful city, I took photos there. And, being in a strange mood, I decided to try out a sort of vintage lomo look. This is what I got.

Technically, the challenge photo.

and my personal favorite of the day

I rather like the lomo look, but it's definitely not for everything. What do you think?

The Comfort Zone

It seems I have grown far too comfortable with a certain "style", I suppose you could call it. I'm loving black and white conversions with a slight yellow hue. They're just so... dramatic and moody! And who is more dramatic and moody than I? ;) So here's my photo.

I'd like to give it to my mother for her birthday, February 22. I never give her anything, and she's admittedly helped me a lot lately with my school finances. Happy early birthday, Mom! Thanks for everything.

Vitamin C (something I desperately need)

I am getting sicker by the day instead of better, and school starts tomorrow. Lame, but at least I'm still in a decent mood! That, and class doesn't even start until 7:30 at night. WOO!

Anyway, today's challenge was, ironically, texture. And since I'm still in the mood for that but really not feeling up to getting up, I thought I'd photograph one of the oranges I've been munching on today using my new close-up and macro filters.

Have a great night! :D
