Frozen

Yet another self-portrait.
I took tons of photos today outside in the freezing rain, but I wasn't satisfied with even one, so I resorted to a selfie. Portraiture is all I want to try lately (and gosh do I need the practice), but I'm lacking subjects. Less than two more weeks until I get my fill of portraiture practice!!! :D I can't WAIT to visit Indiana. Three photo sessions lined up, 2 of them with huge 10+ person families, and hopefully a couple more with Sandra and her daughter Khalila. Photo heaven!

In the Mood

I was in the mood to do more self-portraits today. Don't know why, but it seemed like it would be fun, so here they are.

Haha yeah... I had fun. They were all taken in my bedroom with a ton of lights on and a couple reflectors to help them out. Hope you like them!

EDIT: Oh hey... the daily challenge was monochrome. Go figure! LOL

Selfie

Oh, how I hate self-portraits. I always want to do them, but then once I do, I hate every photo. Blegh.

Anyhow, you can probably expect to get some macro tomorrow, as Sandra bought me a macro fisheye lens I've been wanting. I'm so excited!!! (For the hundredth time, THANK YOU, SANDRA!)

On top of that, I also learned how to print my negatives today (yay!) and my grandmother found me a Save the Tatas breast cancer shirt, so it's been an awesome day. Now to go fall into bed! :D

Statuesque

The beautiful work of Alan Cottrill (check him out at the link below the photo), whose studio is here in Zanesville, OH. I have the pleasure of visiting any time I want, so today Renee and I swung by. Here are a few more photos. If you're ever in town, you should drop in and take a look!

A Moment of Whimsy

Oh the things I find when I'm rushing to Photography class.

Speaking of class, today I learned how to develop film. It was so exciting! Next week, we'll make our very first black and white prints. :D

Meanwhile, I finally got around to editing a few more photos from the Wilson shoot and here are a couple for your viewing pleasure (I hope. lol) The darlings M and M.

Infrared

Sorry for the later-than-usual post. My internet cut off and I've been trying to fix it for hours. Obviously a slow success lol.

Anyhow, I took tons of photos today (or, you know, yesterday technically). In fact, I took an entire roll of film within an hour for my class assignment. It was a lot of fun, and I'm hoping to show you my actual TDS challenge photo (liquid or a liquid container) when I learn to develop it on Thursday. Yay!

However, today is obviously not Thursday, so in place of the liquid photo, I'm going to show you what I learned to do this morning: lock an exposure on the subject in order to get rid of that silhouette effect.

But there's obviously something strange about this photo, isn't there? That's because for the first time ever, I decided to try out the OnOne PhotoTools infrared filter. I really love the result. Expect more BW-IR photos in the future! :D
